Chenopodium subglabrum (Smooth Goosefoot) - photos and description
Origin: Native.
General: Erect annual with a branching growth habit, branches ascending.
Flowers: Inflorescence diffuse, in small greenish glomerules.
Leaves: Leaves alternate, linear, all cauline, I measured a leaf at 2.5 cm long and 2 mm wide.
Height: Height listed in Budd's Flora to 80 cm, we measured plants to 31 cm tall.
Habitat: Sand dunes.
Abundance: Rare, ranked as an S3 (as of 2021) by the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre. Designated as a species of special concern.
When and where photographed: Took the photos July 8th, and July 15th, sand dunes, Douglas Provincial Park, 200 km northwest of our home in Regina, SK.
